📋 About This Mod
This is my first debut mod!
I have been a longtime modder of Skyrim and Fallout, and have always wanted to make my own mod. Inspired by other mod authors I decided to finally learn. By diving headfirst into reverse engineering one of the most complex melee weapons, the Shishkebab.
You see, I was very disappointed with the vanilla Shishkebab. After seeing the concept art, and hearing that Fallout 4 was gonna have weapon customization, I got super excited about the possibilities. Only to play the game and realize the only attachment for it was the extra flame jets. It didn't even do fire damage, and the flame stayed the same size whether it had one jet, or five. So I decided to fix all that.
CHANGES:
- New High-Res Texture
- Adjusted motorcycle brake, Vanilla model clipped into your hand.
- Shishkebab now does a base damage of 16. Making it equal in base strength as a Chinese Officer Sword. Never made sense that it would do less.
- Shishkebab cannot be upgraded into the Searing Shishkebab (Extra Flame Jets), until the quest "Out of the Fire" is completed. Completion of this quest is no longer required to upgrade the Shishkebab into the Searing Shishkebab.
- The size of the flame is now relevant to the number of jets. The Flame will increase in size with each upgrade.
- Added the Gehenna. The unique Shishkebab variant from New Vegas' Gun Runners' Arsenal DLC. The Gehenna isn't just a recolor, its model has been slightly altered and it sports a new custom label.
- The Searing Shishkebab and Gehenna upgrades are accessed through a Chem Bench.
NOTES:
- The Shishkebab, Searing Shishkebab, and Gehenna are technically three separate weapons. They use similar attachments, but unfortunately their attachments are not cross compatible with each other. Just note that when you upgrade, you'll have to re-craft these similar attachments.
- IMPORTANT: I did not edit the leveled list of the Shishkebab in any way. The sword should be just as common as vanilla. Having said that, I realize this could mean the possibility of finding a legendary (Base Form) Shishkebab in the wild. Please remember that unless you have a mod that allows you to remove and swap out legendary effects on weapons, you will most like lose the legendary effect on this weapon if you try upgrading it to Searing or Gehenna.
- I wanted to add actual fire damage to the Shishkebab, but realized that would make it too overpowered for players not using mods that add damage type resistances to enemies. So as a compromise, I made it so its unique variant, the Gehenna, has the Incendiary legendary effect.
- I chose the perk requirements around the idea that the fully upgrade
A complete overhaul and replacer for the Shishkebab sword in Fallout 4, featuring higher resolution textures, new attachments, and the ability to upgrade into its unique variant, Gehenna. The flame size also changes with modifications. With 99 endorsements and 7,560 downloads, it's a niche but appreciated weapon mod.

- Visual upgrade with higher resolution textures makes the Shishkebab look better in-game

For Fallout 4 players who love the Shishkebab and want a visual and functional upgrade. Also for those who enjoy unique weapon variants like Gehenna. Skip if you're not interested in melee weapons or prefer total conversion mods.
