Recruit Vault 81 Prisoner

During the course of a typical playthrough, it is not uncommon to come across the random encounter involving a group of raiders leading a prisoner back to an undetermined destination. Usually, the prisoner is a farmer/settler, which can be recruited with Larannkiar's Recruit Random Encounter Settlers and Farmers. Occasionally, though, the prisoner is a Vault 81 resident, but LK's mod does not handle that particular NPC. Enter Recruit Vault 81 Prisoner which, as the name indicates, allows you to recruit the Vault 81 prisoner and assign him to a settlement in your network where he will function the same as any other settler.

Recruitment occurs through the same rescue dialog I've used in several of my other mods (e.g., Recruit Rotten Landfill Scavengers, Recruit Father Gabe, Recruit Scared Farmer, etc.), and as such, suffers the same limitations. Specifically, if the recruitment prompt fires but you break contact or select the wrong dialog tree, you will not get a second chance. This is the game's default setting for rescue dialog, and since I don't know how to change it, I recommend making a save prior to approaching the prisoner just in case something goes awry.

Optional File

Unfortunately, the prisoner doesn't have his own unique face, instead using one of the generic faces used by the unnamed residents in Vault 81. To remedy this, I've included a patch that will allow him to draw a face at random from the face pool in my recent Vault 81 Settlers mod. This is especially useful if the prisoner encounter can happen more than once.

Compatibility

This mod should be compatible with anything, so long as it doesn't change the V81 prisoner random encounter.
