📋 About This Mod
This mod was created with the help of CarbonWaffle's behavior knowledge, Jarari(Bingle)'s hkxpack tool support and TenSpeed's screenshotting assistance. It alters a single game file: PowerArmorCharacter.hkx.
This mod only affects Power Armor in third person! This means both the player and npcs.
Firstly, it changes some of the Power Armor legs' IK parameters, essentially allowing it to be straighter during idle animations.
However, unlike Cyph3rr's mod Fallout 4 - Power Armor Idle Stance Fix that pioneered this idea, the change was done in a way that preserves the Leg's IK functionality, which means they'll still react to terrain changes (steps, edges, ramps, etc).
Since both mods change the same file, they are incompatible.
Secondly, and this is more of a modder's resource, the mod allows Power Armor animations to correctly use the WPNAssemblyPose, WPNFireSingleReadySlave and WPNFireAutoReadySlave's finger positions instead of reverting to the default ones. Basically, with this mod installed, animators will be able to make the Power Armor fingers properly interact with the weapons they're holding with significantly lower effort. This is already how it works with Human third person; this mod simply extends this functionality to Power Armor. For vanilla weapons, new animations may have to be made to see any difference.
Example done with a modified Hunting Rifle WPNAssemblyPose.hkx and WPNFireReadySingleSlave.hkx, available as a misc file:
Cheers and happy modding!
This Fallout 4 mod tweaks Power Armor leg angles during animations and fixes weapon animations to correctly use WPNAssemblyPose and WPNFireReadySlaves' finger positions. It's a niche animation fix for players who notice misaligned poses in third-person Power Armor gameplay.
