📋 About This Mod

This mod should still work. Any bugs are probably vanilla issues, unless Bethesda's Next Gen update broke something.

However, I haven't touched this mod since 2017 and I haven't played Fallout 4 in almost as long, so if there are any real problems, they will likely remain unfixed. If you experience any issues, or just want to pick different locations on different saves without having to adjust your load order, try one of these mods instead:

  • []Choose Mercer Safehouse Location

[]Choose Your Mercer Safehouse (RobCo Patcher)

The Mercer Safehouse quest randomly chooses the location of Mercer Safehouse from a list of 12 possible settlements. This mod removes the randomization, forcing it to choose the settlement that you want.

Note that you do not select which one you want in-game. There is a separate mod file for each safehouse and whichever one loads last will determine the location.

    Installation

Automatic: Install with a mod manager that supports FOMOD installers (Vortex, Mod Organizer 2, etc.), and you will be able to select a safehouse location in the installer.

Manual: The archive contains a separate folder for each settlement. Copy the .esp file from one of those folders to your Data directory.

You must have the plugin enabled when you talk to Doctor Carrington at the end of "Boston After Dark." That is when the location is chosen, and this mod won't change it if you install it afterwards, even if you haven't gotten the "Mercer Safehouse" quest from P. A. M. yet.

It should be possible to remove the mod at any point after completing "Boston After Dark." I made it as clean as possible so it should not leave any junk behind to cause problems. But there's also no harm in leaving it enabled either.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

No Random Mercer Safehouse Location lets Skyrim players choose the Mercer Safehouse location in advance, with one ESP per location. This eliminates the randomness of the Thieves Guild quest, offering a tailored experience. With 1,392 endorsements and 31,843 downloads, it's a popular choice for those who want more control over their playthrough.

✨ Key Features

Choose the Mercer Safehouse location in advance with one ESP per location.
Eliminates randomness in the Thieves Guild questline.
Provides separate ESP files for each possible safehouse location.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 1,392 endorsements and over 31k downloads.
  • Simple concept: pick your preferred safehouse location and go.
  • Lightweight mod with no extra scripts or dependencies.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2017 — may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim version or Special Edition.
  • Requires you to know which location you want before installing, and switching requires swapping ESPs.
  • Only affects one quest; if you're looking for broader Thieves Guild changes, this won't do it.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who replay the Thieves Guild and want to avoid the random safehouse assignment. Also for completionists who want to experience each location without starting new playthroughs. Skip if you're fine with the vanilla randomness or want more substantial quest overhauls.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Decide which safehouse location you prefer before downloading, then grab the matching ESP.
  • If you're using a mod manager, you can easily swap between ESPs to try different locations.
  • Check if the mod has a version for Skyrim Special Edition if you're playing that version.
