📋 About This Mod
Introducing the Newsie Training plot for your SS2 settlement! I made this (my very first plot!) for the October 2024 Plot-a-palooza contest. The theme for the contest was "Just like new: Things made from new since the war". The goal was to build a recreational plot with materials that were not quite as shabby as your typical Commonwealth shack.
I love using the New Bugle industrial building in SS2... but I always thought it was strange that in order to maximize their performance at that plot, the settler working there needed to be highly trained in Strength. So I decided to make a recreational strength-training plot geared specifically to "journalists" working there! Non-journalist settlers will also love getting a bit of exercise (or just hang out) here, as well!
This 2x2 Recreational plot will train your settlers in Strength by having them jump on the newsie box, perform jumping jacks and use the bench (printing) press.
As the plot first builds, you'll see separate construction stages showing the progress. You'll also notice construction stages between each of the three levels (this was probably the hardest part of building this, so I figured I'd mention it)!
At Level One, this plot offers a typewriter for your settler to start putting their newspaper article ideas to the page. There's also the newsie box filled with papers, that your settler will jump on so they can practice their "Extra! Extra!" shout-outs!
Level Two upgrades the building so that it has walls and windows, some lighting, as well as an upgraded terminal for writing, some more seating, and a couple of light exercise markers.
At Level Three, the building is finally complete with walls, glass windows with curtains, and a sliding glass door. Inside, your settlers will find a bench (printing) press, and more comforts like a radio, fan, and holiday decorations!
