📋 About This Mod

MO2 mod and plugin sorter.

# ModSlut is BETA

Mayhem Discord

ModSlut sorts both sides of your MO2 setup: plugins on the right, and the actual left-pane modlist on the left. Separators, pluginless mods, patches, outputs, weird little override folders, and the eternal question of why the hell this thing is sitting at the bottom of the list.

For Fallout 4 and Fallout 4 VR, it uses LOOT/libloot for plugin sorting and ModSlut's own MO2 left-pane sorter for the rest. It reads the active MO2 profile, builds a preview, then waits for you to approve it. Nothing gets silently yeeted around because the app got confident for five seconds.

It is not Fallout 4-only, either. ModSlut uses LOOT's supported-game data and can work with MO2 profiles for supported Bethesda games: Fallout 4, Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim SE/AE/VR, New Vegas, Enderal, Starfield, and the rest as support gets filled out. This page covers both Fallout 4 flavors, because pretending F4VR is not real would be dumb.

Fallout status, because lying in mod descriptions is cringe: Fallout 4 and F4VR support are real, but they have had much less real-world testing than the Skyrim side. I do not personally play Fallout 4, so consider this the early-adopter lane: preview first, keep a profile backup, and report the weird stuff with enough detail that I do not have to summon it from the void.

Why it works at all: Fallout 4 and Skyrim share the core Creation Engine and MO2 profile structure, so the underlying sorting and modlist logic translates cleanly. Same plumbing, different apocalypse. The gap is testing mileage, not that MS is trying to read a totally alien file format.

## What it does

- Sorts MO2 mods into your separator roadmap.

- Sorts plugins with LOOT/libloot.

- Keeps pluginless mods in the same workflow instead of pretending loose files and texture packs are imaginary.

- Understands patches, outputs, variants, sibling mods, and the usual MO2 nonsense.

- Shows a preview before applying changes. Look at it. Please. This is your modlist, not a loot piñata.

- Lets you apply mod sorting, plugin sorting, or both separately.

- Lets you drag a mod within or between separators to stage a correction.

- Learns corrections for the active profile after you apply them, so the same mod doesn't keep coming back with a new bad idea next time.

- Lets you clear a learned home if you change your mind. MS works for you; it is not your new landlord.

- Refreshes MO2 after applying so you are not mashing F5 and wondering whether Windows ate it.

- Includes inline metadata editing for custom groups, load-after/before, requirements, incompatibilities, messages, tags, and more.

- Supports self-contained themes, custom backgrounds, and read-only MO2 stylesheet imports.

## Learning, minus the fake AI nonsense

ModSlut does not upload your list, phone home, or pretend it has psychic powers. It learns from corrections you make in the active profile.

- Drag a mod where it belongs, then hit Apply Mods: MS keeps that home for this profile.

- Save an exact placement rule: MS learns the home immediately, not only after you run another Sort.

- Remove the temporary rule later if you want. The learned home stays until you explicitly clear that mod's metadata/learned home.

- A correction in one MO2 profile does not leak into every other list on your drive. That would be deranged.

## Themes, backgrounds, and stylesheets

ModSlut can use self-contained themes, custom backgrounds, and read-only MO2 stylesheet imports. Make it clean. Make it wasteland amber. Make it teal terminal goblin nonsense. Your call.

MO2 stylesheet/theme imports are read-only. MS can borrow the look; it does not rewrite MO2's theme files, stomp your setup, or quietly redecorate your UI while you are trying to fix precombines.

## Shareable modlist imports and download-link manifests

Mod authors can export a portable roadmap and an `.mslinks` address book for their modlist. Someone else can import both: MS rebuilds the separator roadmap and shows source pages for mods they still need.

It is a modlist-sharing helper. It is not Wabbajack in a fake moustache. It does not download, install, or click download buttons for you.

Approved sites are not a free malware blessing.

ModSlut only opens known mod-hosting pages. It does not download, scan, install, host, endorse, or verify somebody’s mystery ZIP just because it lives on Google Drive, Discord, GitHub, or whatever.

Check the author, check the file, use your antivirus, use your brain a little. If you choose to bypass a blocked/unapproved source, that is very much a you decision.
