📋 About This Mod

What does this mod do?
This mod changes the amount of damage you need to do to an enemy in order to receive xp for that enemy when it dies. By default you need to do 25% of the total damage done to the enemy in order to gain xp. This can be frustrating in fights where your companion is fighting a different enemy than you and you only get in the last hit. This mod changes the amount of damage you need deal to the enemy to 1 damage point. This also means that if you hit an enemy that any other npc is fighting, you will receive xp for that kill as well.

How does it do it?

This mod just changes the default setting within the game. You can execute a command through the console to get the same effect, but that gets tedious to do every session.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This mod lowers the damage threshold required to earn XP from kills in Fallout 4, so you only need to land at least one hit on an enemy to gain XP instead of dealing 25% of its health. It also fixes companion kills to count properly. Ideal for players who want a more forgiving leveling experience.

✨ Key Features

Reduces XP damage requirement from 25% of enemy health to just 1 damage point.
Ensures companion kills grant XP as long as you've hit the enemy at least once.
Simple gameplay tweak for faster and more relaxed leveling.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 784 endorsements and over 15k downloads.
  • Makes leveling way less grindy—just tag an enemy and let your companion finish them off.
  • Tiny change that fits seamlessly into any playthrough.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2016, so it might not be compatible with newer game patches or DLC.
  • Could make the game too easy if you're used to the original XP curve.
  • Potential conflicts with other mods that alter XP gain or damage calculations.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout 4 players who find the 25% damage requirement too strict and want a more relaxed leveling experience. Also great for those who rely heavily on companions and want their kills to count. Skip if you prefer a challenge or use mods that overhaul XP systems.
