Gremlin Outfit Fix

The Problem

When players use body mods (like EVB or CBBE), some outfits can display visual glitches, like patches of skin discoloration, usually on the shoulders or shoulder blades. Other symptoms include outfit clipping, gaps, floating, and distorted body shapes. This happens when the outfit’s mesh or UVs don’t match the body mod’s textures. For vanilla NPCs, this is usually solved by installing the matching vanilla outfit replacer for your body mod.

Mod‑added NPCs are trickier. Some use custom outfits that expose just enough skin to reveal the mismatch.

Gremlin, added by Sim Settlements 2, is one of those NPCs. Her custom outfit is based on the vanilla Raider Harness, but it was built for the vanilla body mesh and exposes just enough shoulder for the mismatch to show.

The Solution

Since her custom outfit is so close to the vanilla Raider Harness, and since the vanilla harness is included in most body mod outfit packs with the correct morphs, the simplest fix is to have Gremlin wear the vanilla harness instead.

That’s exactly what this mod does.

It overrides only her outfit record (OTFT), not her NPC record, for maximum compatibility. The only conflict you could encounter is if you install another mod that edits her outfit. But you wouldn't do that.

This mod contains no scripts and only overwrites a single record. If you’ve installed the vanilla outfit pack for your body mod, you already have everything this mod needs. If you haven't, Gremlin will be the least of your body-mod issues.

The Directions

Because Gremlin’s custom outfit is equipped when she spawns, this mod works best when installed before her quest begins. If she has already spawned in your game and you’re comfortable using the console, I’ve written an article with a simple workaround.
