📋 About This Mod
What is Generic Companions Expansion 2?
The Generic Companions Expansion aims to add several new FULLY RECRUITABLE followers around the commonwealth, similar to that of the simpler, more generic faction-based followers you would find scattered around the world in games such as Skyrim or Starfield. They come fully voiced using in game dialogue (both players included), as well as doubling as fully functional unique SETTLERS.
Sometimes I don't want to wander around with Nick or Hancock, as much as I may enjoy them. There are times where I would rather just have a Brotherhood soldier by my side or really FEEL like the General, with Minutemen following me. These followers don't contain a questline or affinity system, however what IS INCLUDED :

With 99 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche companion mod for Fallout 4 players seeking more generic, faction-aligned allies.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid niche pick with 99 endorsements and over 5,500 downloads — the community's been downloading it
- Recent update (August 2025) means it's still being maintained, which is always a good sign
- If you liked the first expansion, this one continues the trend of adding no-frills, faction-style followers
⚠️ Cons
- Description cuts off mid-sentence, so you're flying blind on exactly which followers and factions are included
- With only 99 endorsements, it's a smaller mod — you might hit bugs or quirks that haven't been ironed out by a big community
- Adding new followers can conflict with other companion mods or quest mods that alter the same locations or NPCs
For Fallout 4 players who want more recruitable followers without the complex backstories or quests — just simple, faction-aligned companions like in Skyrim or Starfield. If you're a completionist who's already exhausted the vanilla companions, this is for you. Skip if you prefer followers with deep personalities or if you're not into generic, filler-style NPCs.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this is a companion mod, make sure to check if it's compatible with your other follower mods to avoid duplicate NPCs or conflicts.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the install — it's a simple drop-in, but a manager keeps your load order clean.
- After installing, look for the new followers in typical faction locations — they're designed to be generic, so they might blend in with regular NPCs.
