📋 About This Mod
A mod which adds the flags from Flags of the New World by DDProductions to the Dynamic Flags system of Sim Settlements 2 .
All Flags are available from the start of the game, if the flags are missing, go to Tools > Advanced in your City Manager Terminal and select Reset Settlement Flag Cache
"Some of these flags don't display right as a banner/flag/hanging banner!"
Some flags do not display well on hanging or wall banners; my advice is to avoid using the banners with any heavily text-based flag (They have a habit of mirroring), and to try to use any flags with a central (preferably circular) element with the hanging banners (Such as the Enclave flag), though you are of course free to ignore my advice, I'm text on a screen not a cop.
"There's no prefix like literally every other SS2 mod has!"
I was unable to give these flags prefixes (such as "") for sorting on account that the name field has a 24 character limit, and some of the flag names are too long to fit anything else. My apologies for the inconvenience.
"I selected a flag (or exited the menu) and now it just says Another settlement customization is being processed!"
I've also noticed a tendancy for flag changes to take a beat longer than normal to parse now, I think this might be a side-effect of the sheer number of flags added to the dynamic flags system, and I'm not sure of a fix for it. All I can advise is patience.
"All the new flags are just Minutemen Flags!"
Make sure you have Flags of the New World downloaded and the mod itself enabled (The plugin itself however, is optional. I only use the textures)
"Can you add more flags?"
Maybe. Depends if I feel like it. Ones currently in the mod aren't made by me so it'd take, like... effort.
Credit for all flags, of course, goes to DDProductions and MysteryMachineX.
This patch integrates the flag designs from DDProductions' 'Flags of the New World' into Sim Settlements 2's Dynamic Flags system. It's a small compatibility mod for Fallout 4 settlement builders who want more flag variety. With 69 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but functional addition.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tight integration with Sim Settlements 2's Dynamic Flags – no more mismatched banners.
- Small but active community (69 endorsements) and recently updated (June 2024).
- Easy to install – just drop it in your mod manager.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires both Sim Settlements 2 and the original Flags of the New World mod – that's two extra dependencies.
- Only adds flags – if you're not into settlement aesthetics, this does nothing for you.
- Potential conflicts with other mods that alter the Dynamic Flags system or add their own flags.
For Fallout 4 settlement builders who use Sim Settlements 2 and want more flag variety without hunting for individual mods. If you're not into settlement building or don't use Sim Settlements 2, skip this – it's purely cosmetic and niche.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have both Sim Settlements 2 and the original Flags of the New World mod installed before adding this patch.
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to handle load order – place this patch after both required mods.
- In-game, access the Dynamic Flags menu in Sim Settlements 2 to select the new flags – they'll appear alongside the default options.
