📋 About This Mod
Advanced Recolor of the Original, "Helmeted Cage Armor", to make it darker and worn. My goal was to make the armor darker while keeping it lore friendly.
Directions: Go to your main directory for Fallout 4 and Extract the "Textures" folder into the "Data" folder, overwriting all and anything needed. Next, modify "Fallout4.ini" in Documents\My Games\Fallout4 or wherever it is, find the line, "sResourceDataDirsFinal" and replace the "whole" line with
"sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERFX\"
this is more than required but it will rid you of future modifications to the Fallout4.ini file for other mods. But if you just want to add whats needed, add this instead,
"sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\"
Done, Enjoy, let me know what you think and if you guys want to see more from me.Let me know how did in the comments, if you want, endorse and share with your friends. Also submit some screenshots of the mod, I'll put em up in the gallery.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 344 endorsements and nearly 6k downloads
- Keeps the lore-friendly vibe while giving the armor a darker, grittier feel
- Easy to install—just drop the textures in and you're good
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects the Helmeted Cage Armor, so it's a niche visual tweak
- Last updated in 2015, so it might not be compatible with newer mods or patches
- No preview images or detailed instructions, so you're flying blind until you test it in-game
For Skyrim players who want a darker, more worn version of the Helmeted Cage Armor without breaking immersion. If you're a completionist collecting armor variants or just want your character to look more battle-worn, this is a solid pick. Skip it if you're looking for new armor models or gameplay changes—this is purely a texture recolor.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a texture replacer, make sure to place the files in your Data folder or use a mod manager to avoid overwriting other armor mods.
- If you're using other armor texture overhauls, load this mod after them to ensure the dark recolor takes priority.
- Test in-game with the console command 'player.additem' to spawn the armor and see the new look before committing.
