Mod Introduction

Sound is one of the most important part of video games. It might not seem like it, but trust me it is. When you're playing the game, you usually don't realise sound at it's fullest, it's more of a subconcious element, however if done right, it will highly increase your immersion into the game, even more than high quality realistic graphics. Take for example Resident Evil 4. The graphics are outdated, but you still feel highly immersed into the game while playing it, and that's because of it's amazing sound design.

Changes Mades

This mod modifies the sound for the frag grenade for 2 distances, close range and medium range (there are a total of 4). For the close range sound, I've completely changed the vanilla sound to something way more intense, and I've added a high pitched ear ringing following the explosion. For the medium range, I've slightly modified the vanilla sound and added a small ear ringing. Unlike most other mods that add ear ringing to various explosions, this only adds it to the frag grenade. I had to do this since the audio file used for the frag grenade explosion is used for a lot of other sound effects. This sometimes gives you ear ringing where it doesn't belong, the most notable of which were molotovs.

Future Plans for this Mod

This mod is far from being complete. I am far from being satisfied with it. However, it gets the job done, and it's better for me to post it both for my motivation, and so I can get valuable feedback.

Incompatibilities

Due to my mod having a ringing sound effect it is incompatible with any other mods that add ringing sounds after explosions. It creates a very annoying audio bug with the ringing noise, so I don't recommend you use both together. HOWEVER, I will be overhauling more explosive SFXin a later date, and will add ringing and debris SFX so you'll have a mod that adds ear ringing with guaranteed compatibility!

Legality of the Sound Samples Used

Every sound sample I used comes from either Bethesda, or was royalty free, so you don't need to worry about using them in youtube videos or somet
