BOS100 Fire Support CHECK YOUR FIRE fix

Install this fix at any time in any game, it does not modify any game content, has no dependencies or load order needs:

(1) If BOS100 Fire Support fight scene has not started it waits for that quest trigger to do stage 2.

(2) If BOS100 Fire Support fight scene is running and the player is at Cambridge PD it cleans the fight scene up, progreses the quest, pops a [ Fire Support fix applied. ] message and shuts down.

(3) If BOS100 Fire Support has passed the fight scene it pops a [ Fire Support fix not needed. ] message and shuts down.

The quest bug happens when the player gets close to Cambridge PD to trigger feral spawns, then wanders off so the actors unload or spawn unloaded. When the player returns some ferals can sometimes get stuck in geometry or just ... >poof< disappear without actually dying so the quest can not progress.

This fix does not need to be added to your game UNTIL the problem happens as it detects your game state and doesn't hack any base game content, so can be added at any time. WOW !

ALTHOUGH if you want to fight the initial waves of ferals DO NOT INSTALL THIS until the problem happens as it automatically completes that phase of the quest in (1) + (2).

INSTALLATION

Install this mod at any point in any game as it is 100% new content and detects your game state. It has zero dependencies on anything and no load order requirements.

Copy SKKBOS100CheckYourFireFix.esp andSKKBOS100CheckYourFireFix – Main. BA2 to your ...\Fallout 4\Data directory and add to Plugins.txt, or enable in the Bethesda mod menu, use a mod manger or however you organise.

As this is published after November 2019 it requires Fallout4.exe 1. 10. 162. 0 (or later) or equivalent workarounds. The BA2 archive is modified to work with any version.

Even though some may get lucky, SKK does not support the removal of any CreationEngine mod from an active savegame. Those who know, know.

Yes you can ESL flag the ESP.

NOTES

(a) This makes no changes to any existing content or scripts so is unlikley to conflict with anything (unless you have stuff that does hack BOS100 quests).

(b) On PC the bug can be sortof bypassed with 50% success rate with console commands [ kah ] [ StopQuest BOS100Fight ] [ SetStage BOS100 40 ] but leaves script timers constantly running which is not good.

(c) Yes there are already mods that fix this quest, but all of them hack base game content or scripts so I won't use them. This is for folks who care about quality and stability.

(d) Social commentary: The fight handling functionality is from Feral Replacement System. This standalone fix was previously an optional file on that mod, but no one could find it as nexus STI
