The BMAT development has currently being postponed in favour of testing Daytripper 4 which fixes the root cause of the Fallout 4 BA2 limit! Daytripper 4 when installed increases the limit of the game engine allowing for 65536 BA2 archives to be loaded for each type (Main and Textures).

BMAT as a tool that is intended to take away most of the complexity from of the process of merging mods asset files like BA2 files and loose files/folders by automating most of the process.
BMAT can handle mods additions, changes, updates, removals and so on, allowing easy repackage/merge of the BA2 archives.
BMAT provides traceability of which mods files were merged and where.
BMAT was designed to save as much disk space as possible, but you still need to keep the tool staging folder for it to work properly.
Fair warning: BMAT may not be for the faint of the heart with all its files and folders moves and deletions, and with all the warnings in Vortex, but it gets the job done! Keep in mind that BMAT is still in beta versions and even though it has been tested against thousands of mods with different sizes, and folder structures there could be some quirks that may need to be ironed out. Be patient and if you find any issues with the tool, please let me know which mod and which mod version you are trying to merge, so I can make the tool work with that mod in the tool follow-up version.
BMAT was tested against 1300+ mods with multiple versions, and 8 FO4 mod collections (aSW + 7 aSW Add-Ons + nearly 250 additional mods) running at the same time on a single Vortex profile.
