📋 About This Mod

Spitfire (Enhanced Muzzle Effects) is an excellent mod. It adds visual variety to the muzzle effects of weapons that add a depth that the vanilla game lacked. There's only one issue with it - the projectiles use the vanilla hitscan mechanic, and I want bullets to have a ballistic trajectory, that is affected by gravity. So, I made this, a simple patch that does exactly this.

Fully compatible with Lunar Fallout Overhaul without a patch

My Other Mods

Unique Creatures and Monsters Standalone - An AWKCR free version of Thirdstorm's masterpiece, with loads of updates and bugfixes. Also includes standalone Super Mutant Redux

Creative Perks Plus - Finishing what TaliRedmint started - a total perk overhaul.

Gunmetal Faction Distribution Framework -  An (almost) AWKCR-free framework for distribution of Gunmetal Armor, Weapon and Clothing Skins (and who doesn't love free skins?), as well as Creation Club skins.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This small compatibility patch adds ballistic trajectory to the Spitfire muzzle effects mod, making bullets follow realistic drop over distance. With 180 endorsements and 26k downloads, it's a niche utility for players who want both enhanced visuals and realistic ballistics. Last updated in 2022, it may require the original Spitfire mod.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Tight integration with Spitfire—if you already run that mod, this is a no-brainer add-on
  • Solid community trust: 180 endorsements from 26k downloads shows it works for most people
  • Fills a real gap: muzzle effects without bullet drop feels arcadey, this fixes that

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires the original Spitfire mod—no standalone value if you don't have it
  • Last updated in 2022—might be stale if Spitfire or the game has since changed
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who already use Spitfire and want more realistic gunplay with bullet drop. Skip if you're happy with vanilla ballistics or don't use Spitfire—this patch does nothing on its own.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have the original Spitfire mod installed first, then drop this patch's files into your mod folder—load order usually doesn't matter for patches like this.
  • If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to avoid overwriting Spitfire's original files.
  • Test in a firing range or single-player to see the bullet drop in action—it's subtle but noticeable at range.
