📋 About This Mod
This mod is inspired by OLD WORLD RADIO - Base Object Swapper from Sniper00. If you plan on using it, then you will have to ignore my mod.
I simply aim to swap some of the Diamond City Radio receivers found in the Commonwealth with receivers from Atomic Radio (first file on the download page). I made two versions: both will replace 25% of the radios, but one has the default texture, and the other has a new texture. I set the swap chance to 25% because there are some great mods that enhance Diamond City Radio out there, like Diamond City Radio Extended. If you want a different %, set a different "chanceR" value in Atomic Radio_SWAP.ini (one of the files in the mod).
I have included a ESL-flagged plug-in to account for ON and OFF receivers (Atomic Radio only had a receiver that starts OFF), with a new texture if you pick the main file.
By the way, Atomic Radio is an excellent mod with a lot of custom, high-quality commercials, announcements and plays.
Installation order:
Just make sure that Atomic Radio Receiver ON.esp is loaded after Atomic Radio.esp
A small Fallout 4 mod that swaps some Diamond City Radio receivers in the world with Atomic Radio receivers using Base Object Swapper. For players who want visual variety in radio props. 117 endorsements, last updated February 2023.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and effective—does exactly what it says with no bloat
- Community-tested (117 endorsements) and still downloaded 45k times
- Works with Base Object Swapper, so it's clean and uninstallable
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects some receivers—not all, so you might not notice the change everywhere
- Requires Base Object Swapper as a dependency, which some players may not have
- Last updated in 2023—might not be compatible with the latest Fallout 4 updates
For Fallout 4 players who want a subtle visual tweak to radio props without overhauling the game. If you're a fan of Atomic Radio and want its aesthetic to bleed into the Commonwealth, this is for you. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or a full radio overhaul.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Base Object Swapper installed and enabled, or the mod won't work.
- Load order doesn't matter much for this mod, but keep it after Base Object Swapper.
- If you don't see changes, check that the mod is active and that you're in an area with Diamond City Radio receivers.
