Age of Steel - Cybermen in the Commonwealth

Who are the Cybermen?

Originating from the British sci-fi series Doctor Who, the true origin of the Cybermen varies from planet to planet, universe to universe. However, regardless of their origin, their nature is the same - cybernetically augmented humanoids lacking in all emotion, whose principle purpose is to 'upgrade' all compatible life to become like themselves.

What's in the mod?

This mod adds several types of Cybermen to the Commonwealth:

- Cybermen: Powerful humanoids build by an Institute scientist, armed with in-built weapons or Cyber-rifles.

- Heavy Cybermen - Early prototypes built by the Institute around Power Armour frames. Heavily armoured and carrying Gatling lasers, approach with caution.

- 'Reject' Cybermen - Those unfortunate souls whose 'upgrade' conversion was flawed, left insane and abandoned, usually found amongst Feral Ghouls (presumably for the company). I would STRONGLY recommend installing Zombie Walkers (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20485), unless you want armoured cyborgs running at you?

As mentioned these Cybermen are the work of the secretive Institute, and will mostly be found alongside their synths in the field. For those wanting more backstory, there are a number of holotapes detailing one scientists mad dreams and ultimate fate, which can be found (at random) on the bodies of slain Cybermen (or collected together in one location if you can't wait - see images for spoiler location).

If you happen to kill a Heavy Cyberman, you can strip his armour pieces and use them on your own Power Armour frame (although you'll need to clean the brain-gunk out of the helmet at the Chem station first). These PA pieces require Cyberium-steel to repair, which can be found on Cybermen.

Those with a mind for science can also salvage a Cyberman's arm mounted laser, but be warned, this is intended for use with the PA and is otherwise invisible!

My Cybermen look different to yours!

That's because they use the default PA frame texture. So if you have a retexture, that's what they'll have too. I use the 'Weathered Chromatic Frame' from this excellent mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11073
