📋 About This Mod
This mod adds three different 20mm rounds:
20mm Vulcan Round
20mm Armor Piercing Round
20mm High Explosive Round
All with custom meshes and custom 2K textures, scaled to their real life size, and with collision.
Right now, they are used in Skibadaa's Flak Cannon from the Machineguns Rebirth mod.
In the future, I will probably use them elsewhere as well. Your suggestions are welcome.
Besides replacing ammo for the Flak Cannon, this mod also:
Adds recipes to the Chem Station for crafting three types of 20mm rounds;
Replaces the casings ejected from the Flak Cannon with new models, appropriately scaled;
Adds the new ammo to the leveled lists (naturally, if you already had Machineguns Rebirth installed you will need to either start a new game for this to take effect or else use the Settings holotape from Machineguns Rebirth);
Actually rechambers the Flak Cannon for different rounds when you select them at the Weapons Workbench;
Replaces the ammo for the Flak Turret as well (only standard Vulcan rounds for the turrets).
IceStormNG: original assets and also help provided on Discord. This mod would not have been possible without him. All assets are used with permission.
Skibadaa: the top-notch Machineguns Rebirth mod. This add-on was uploaded with his permission. I also highly recommend his Miniguns Rebirth.
The . 50 BMG, . 338 Lapua Magnum, and . 50 AE rounds used in the screenshots for size comparison are from the Armament mod by GoldenDarknezz & Utherien.
Adds three 20mm round types (Standard, AP, HE) with custom meshes and textures, replacing the Flak Cannon ammo from Machineguns Rebirth. A niche ammo expansion for Fallout 4 mod users, with 170 endorsements and recent updates.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 170 endorsements and over 6,000 downloads
- Three distinct ammo types give you tactical options against different targets
- Custom meshes and textures mean the new rounds actually look different in-game
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Machineguns Rebirth as a dependency, so it's useless without that mod
- Only affects the Flak Cannon's ammo, so it's a narrow tweak rather than a broad overhaul
- Compatibility risk with other mods that alter the same ammo or Flak Cannon
For Fallout 4 players who use Machineguns Rebirth and want more variety in their heavy weapons ammo. If you're not running that mod, skip this. It's a focused ammo expansion, not a gameplay overhaul.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure Machineguns Rebirth is installed first, then drop this mod's files into your Data folder or use a mod manager.
- Check your load order to ensure this mod loads after Machineguns Rebirth so the replacement works correctly.
- If you're on PC, you can preview the new ammo meshes in the mod's file structure before installing.
