📋 About This Mod
This mod adds a small tag to the name of unique Fallout 3 weapons to prevent accidental destruction.
Mod Name:Unique Weapon Identifier Mod Author: The Eternal Ruin Version Info: 1. 0 Released: Nov 16, 2009 -Table of Contents- A. Mod Description B. Special Notes C. Files D. Installation (Manual) E. Installation (FOMM) F. Uninstallation G. File Conflicts and Bugs H. Disclaimer ------------------------ A. Mod Description: After finally learning how to repair weapons and armor in Fallout 3, I became frustrated that there was no visible distinction between regular weapons and armor and the unique weapons and armor, which can only be found once in the game. That means I might accidentally repair a regular weapon with a unique weapon! I already knew how G. E. C. K. works, since I had done some messing around with TES Construction Set for Oblivion, so I decided I would tweak the names of all unique weapons in the game. This is what I decided looked the best and made the most sense. Unique Weapon Before: Perforator Unique Weapon After: /u/ Perforator The best way to see how this looks in game is to look at the screenshot included in my archive, or on the website. Hopefully, seeing this tag on a weapon will prevent the accidental destruction of unique weapons when repairing ordinary weapons. This new naming scheme also pulls all unique weapons to the top of the weapon list in your pipboy and arranges them alphabetically. ------------------------ B. Special Notes //////////IMPORTANT\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ I understand that not everyone would like the symbols I used to distinguish between regular weapons and unique weapons, but after several hours of testing, this is the best I could find, and I like it. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\---------////////// ------------------------ C. Files: Data\\UniqueWeaponIdentifier.esp Data\\UniqueWeaponIdentifier-DLC-Anchorage.esp Data\\UniqueWeaponIdentifier-DLC-Pitt.esp Data\\UniqueWeaponIdentifier-DLC-Steel.esp Data\\UniqueWeaponIdentifier-DLC-Lookout.esp Data\\UniqueWeaponIdentifier-DLC-Zeta.esp ------------------------ D. Installation (Manual): 1) Find and open your \"Data\" folder found in your Fallout 3 main folder 2) Copy \"UniqueWeaponIdentifier.esp\" to the \"Data\" folder to get the naming tag on all unique Fallout 3 weapons. Also copy the appropriate esp\'s for any of the official addons you have to get the tag on all of those unique weapons as well. (I found this to be especially helpful with the alien weaponry, as it is harder to tell the difference.) 3) Open the Fallout 3 launcher 4) Select Data Files 5) Find any of the files you copied from the archive and make sure that their check box is checked 6) Run Fallout 3 and enjoy! ------------------------ E. Installation (FOMM): 1) Extract \"Unique Weapon Identifiers.fomod\" from the archive and open it. Choose yes if it asks if you want to copy the fomod to the FOMM directory. After it successfully installs you may delete the original fomod you extracted (but don\'t delete the fomod
