Name: Silent UI Version: 1. 0 Author: sproaty Date: 11/11/2008 Description ============================================== Removes what I consider most of the annoying sounds in the game\'s UI: beeping sound every time you mouse-over an inventory item/dialogue option/barter screen beeping with the menu screen options keyboard typing sound while hacking (mouse-over characters) and when the terminal is printing its output random static sounds of pipboy when changing \'tabs\' sound of the projector at the loading screens beeping sound every time you mouse over a body part in VATS XP gained cash register sound also lowers the volume of entering/exiting VATS I do this by replacing all the above files with 0-byte WAVs (a technique I saw in the Oblivion mod, quiet feet max) NOTE: I have not been able to replace the world map beeping sound when you mouse-over a map marker. This was one of my intentions with the mod but I\'m having trouble finding its sound file - if you find it, let me know! You can customize the mod easily by simply deleting the files you do not wish to use. Installation ============================================== Extract the archive into your Fallout 3 folder (default C:\\Program Files \\Bethesda Softworks\\Fallout 3). Open FALLOUT. INI (default ...\\My Documents\\My Games\\Fallout3\\FALLOUT. INI) with any text editor and change the value of bInvalidateOlderFiles from 0 to 1 (i.e., bInvalidateOlderFiles=1).
