01. What and Why

The "Russian Assault Rifle AK74", (http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/7226) released as standalone mod by Yushatak, had some people baffled by an in-game anomaly of "colour shifting". It is my hope that the alterations I made to the ESP file will remedy this. I also added a Normal Map.

02. Requirements

• Fallout 3, base game, official patch 1. 7
• "Russian Assault Rifle AK74" by Yushatak; http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/7226
• (This is mandatory as it contains the meshes and textures you will need!
• Without Yushatak's mod, installing this amendment is senseless!).

03. Installation

• If you haven't already, download and install Yushatak's mod.
• Download the updated file with Normal Map and ESP.
• Copy the "Textures" folder into your X:Bethesda SoftWorksFallout3Data folder and
• overwrite if and when prompted.
• Copy the "Russian Assault Rifle.esp" into your X:Bethesda SoftWorksFallout3Data
• folder and overwrite if and when prompted.
• If you haven't already, make sure you tick the box of the "Russian Assault Rifle.esp" under
• the Data Files Tab of your Fallout 3 Game Launcher.
• Play (and hopefully, no more colour shifting!)

- To install the Update, simply download and Unzip the Update File; copy the Texture folder into your FalloutData folder and click Yes, when asked to overwrite.

(Sorry for the inconvenience, but I'm learning more and more about FO3 modding and the GECK. Error message within the GECK stated the Normal Map did not have mipmaps. Evidently it was supposed to have them, so I changed the appropriate DDS file.) What are mipmaps, according to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mipmap

04. Deinstallation

• Start you game and load your most recent save.
• From your Pipboy inventory, select the Russian Assault Rifle and drop it / remove it
• from your inventory.
• Save your game into a new slot and exit to Desktop.
• Start up your game launcher and uncheck the box of the "Russian Assault Rifle.esp"
• Play. Load your most
