01. What and Why?

What I wanted:

On whatever playthrough of Fallout 3, I always wind up killing Colin Moriarty, the owner of Megaton's saloon.

Why? No matter my character's disposition or karma, she (yes, I play a female character) has a serious allergic reaction to Moriarty; one that leaps from instant dislike to deep-seated hatred.

But if you kill Colin, Nova will no longer accept new clients, as Moriarty used to make such decisions for her.

So I made this mod for myself, for immersion purposes; I envision killing Moriarty will delight Nova to no end and she agrees to make my character somewhat of a VIP client.

My Earlier Intent, but what did not pan out:

I wanted to kill Moriarty, start a quest called "Silent Witness", setup a timer and once it would have run its course a note from Nova would have been added to the player's inventory; stating she knew you were the one having killed Moriarty.

This would end the "Silent Witness" quest and start a new one called "Nova Knows"; where you would be able to hire her services.

BUT, I couldn't get the timer to work, so that concept was scrapped.

What I did manage to do:

This mod now creates new conditions to Nova's dialogue, so she will keep you as a client.

!!! For it to properly work, killing Moriarty in a stealthy, silent fashion (no one gets alerted) is key !!!!

02. Requirements

- Fallout 3, basegame, latest official patch (1. 7. 0. 3)

- Archive Extraction tool, such as WinZip, WinRar, or7-zip

- Stealth kill Moriarty !!! No one must be alerted to his death.

03. Installation

- Download the archive manually, yes manually, I don't know what will happen (or will not happen) when you install this using NMM or another Mod Manager.

- Use the extraction tool to unpack the archive to a neutral folder on your HD.

- Copy the "Data" folder of the downloaded archive into your X:\Fallout 3\ folder (where the Fallout3.exe file is located).

- Use some type of ArchiveInvalidation. And check the box of the "ExceptionToTheRule.esp" to activate it before playing.

04. Removal

- Uncheck the appropriate ESP file.

- Start your game and force load when prompted

- No CTD? Save your game into a new slot.
