Nailed To Death: One of the most adrenaline-pumping gaming moments I\'ve had was my first encounter with Super Mutants in the Capital Wasteland. Unfortunately, the magic of slaying a nine-foot tall mutant built like a brick shithouse with my combat shotgun soon faded as I realized they simply weren\'t as strong as they looked. The goal of this mod is to fix this, or in other words to make super mutants as tough as they look...a serious problem for the wastelander, requiring special planning and strategy to be dealt with. (at least at low lvls) What this mod does: - Removes hunting rifles from all Super Mutants. If Raiders don\'t have BB guns, SMs shouldn\'t have . 32 caliber rifles. - Adds big guns to a few of the mutants in the lower leveled lists. Thus the number of low-leveled SMs with guns is smaller than in vanilla FO3, but the ones that are packing will have big guns. -Significantly strengthens all melee-type super mutants, and adds a new type of melee SM. -Slightly buffs the nail-board and super sledge. Don\'t worry, the nail board is still weaker than a sledgehammer, and the super-sledge isn\'t buffed too much. Detailed Description: The lowest-tier of melee SMs are now pretty strong. I increased HPs by about 80%, increased their strength to 10 and made the nail board a more deadly weapon. My rationale for these changes is that even a low level SM is still ~10ft. in height, up to 360lbs and pure muscle and bone. They are going to be strong and when they hit you it will hurt. In addition, ALL melee-type SMs are now faster and will close the distance with ease. Some of the lowest-tier SMs now have big-guns, but their number should be about 1/2 the number of SMs with hunting rifles in vanilla. The second tier melee SMs are also stronger, though not by as much as the first tier. They also have 10 STR, but only slightly increased HP. Instead of the sledge, they now use the Super-Sledge. The third tier melee SMs fight without weapons or armor, abusing chemicals to get stronger and fight better. These are the super mutants that push the others around, the biggest, strongest and most blood-crazed humanoids alive outside of the Behemoths. Any wastelander worth his salt will kill them before they reach melee range--at all costs. However, those who do manage to bring them down will be pleased by the rewards. Naming conventions for the SMs have been altered to reflect their combat roles/ make them less generic. 1st.
