📋 About This Mod
A test of the pen and an attempt to make the Community of Canterbury a little more lively and logical.
Hello everyone. Em... I've been replaying Fallout 3, and I've noticed a nuance. It's quite significant (and I apologize to the fans of the third installment), to be honest. There are many locations, but almost all of them feel like drafts, like something that could have been much larger, more logical, and more detailed. For example, I've always been bothered by the fact that 200 years after the war, people are still settling and developing (allegedly) settlements, but they're careful to avoid cleaning up the piles of garbage (ha, thanks to the level designers who love using this placeholder to fill the space). Don't get me wrong; I'm trying to think rationally. Canterbury is a trading hub in the Washington Wastelands. Although it's a small community, the people are friendly, take care of the area, and host trading caravans. I think this is an indication that they need to clean up their act and strengthen their borders.
To be brief:I removed some things and added fences in other places.
I added wind turbines and water storage tanks to the roofs of the houses, and the abandoned houses have boarded-up windows, which implies that they are empty. I removed the piles of garbage on the street and in the surrounding area. I added outdoor toilets (I don't think they have a working sewage system). I added a few "easter eggs" as a joke.
The main street is now "through" and the community can be walked from start to finish. A "guest" tent for caravans and their guards has been added at the entrance to the community.
The road leading out of the community to Mechanist's Hideout has been blocked off to avoid any accidents, as the residents are not particularly fond of their neighbor after what happened to him.
Bonus: I tried to make Mechanist's Hideout look more chaotic and filled with activity. The junkyard in front of the building has expanded significantly (he needs metal), and there are many barrels of nuclear waste (I believe this is a logical waste product when working with robots that use nuclear power sources). As a result, the building and the surrounding area are covered with a large amount of brain fungus. The building is powered by two large turbines (similar to wind turbines) and a couple of generators.
I understand that this is all just a fantasy and an assumption, but I don't claim to have the utmost accuracy. Moreover, this is just a test run, and it's possible that I won't return to it (I'm not even sure if I didn't break anything...).
