📋 About This Mod

Climb over objects and up walls by holding jump

FO3 Climb

As always, bug reports and criticism welcomed as it will improve the mod in the next update.

Description

  • []This mod lets you climb over objects and up walls.

[]The distance is based on your Strength, and Action Points use is based on Agility.

[]The climb distance is less indoors to try to avoid going out of bounds.

[]The mod can be configured in the included config file.

[]How to climb: Hold jump while moving straight(close to right angle) forward in front of an object or wall.

    Home button:

    • []Home key will teleport player to start of climb. For use in the situation where players climb out of the game world and get stuck. Stores the position for 30s.

      Read:

      • []Emphasis on the straight part. If you're hovering to the side much while pushing forward and jump, you won't climb.

[]If there is a collision object above your head, you may just bang your head and not go further.

[]Looking up while climbing is best for high climbs.

[]Mod works best in 1st person.

      • []You can use the config file so that you can climb even if the players hovering more to the side when jumping. The only consequence is if you jump and keep holding jump even when not wanting to climb, the player might hover until you release. This won't happen when doing usual tap jumps though.

[]Also, even after editing the config file, the climb will stop if you move too much to the side. So it is best to try to go reasonably straight up. Can't Spiderman it.

[]The above GIF shows the default behaviour -- go up fairly straight and you'll get where you want to go.

Sometimes objects don't have collision data up high. This means sometimes when climbing you will fall through if you go over one of these objects.

So climbing really high or above ceilings is a bad idea. If you do go out of bounds and are stuck, climbing out will work a lot of the time.

Using it like in the demo and video is probably the best way. I didn't put restrictions on it because it can be fun to climb to daft places.

        Config Options

Config file located in Fallout 3\Data\Config\Drarack\FO3Climb.ini

        • []Indoors and outdoors climb height adjustment

          []Ap cost

[]Object/wall detect sensitivity. Explained in the config file.

[]The button to return to start position for if you get stuck can be changed there.

          Future

[]Almost finished a perk that allows y
