Fallout 3 Darker Nights

Let's face it: night time in Fallout 3 is, well, kind of terrible! Everything is so brightly lit that it's barely distinguishable from day. I wanted to make a mod that would make night time in fallout 3 much darker, more realistic and as a result make night times more dangerous and challenging for the player!

However, I also quite like the overall look and feel of Fallout 3 during the day time. So for the most part I didn't touch any of the day time looks or weather and lighting systems at all or only where absolutely necessary! Some people may detest the monochromatic green tint of vanilla on everything, but for me this is fundamental to the mood and tone of the game as the developers intended.

If you are a Fallout 3 purist then this mod is for you!

None (other than Fallout3.esm)

######### Installation ###########

Download and extract the archive to your Fallout 3 Data folder using a mod manager

######### Incompatibilities ###########

Not compatible with Fellout. There will be conflicts which may have weird in-game results. Don't run alongside Fellout unless you are an advanced FO3Edit user.

Darker Nights may work with weather mods but I have not tested it. Creating a Merged Patch is recommended.

Interior lighting mods will be fine since I have not touched any of the interior lighting with Darker Nights except to increase the light radius of burning barrels to help you see at night.

  I also highly recommend you install an enhanced flashlight or night vision mod to help you see at night!

  If you use Fallout Wanderers Edition, I recommend using the "Optional Restore Tracers" plugins to be able to see nearby gunfights more easily.
