Mod Title: Apocalypse - Death Penalties ############################# Author: Celticgirl Contents: Apocalypse Near Death Penalties Version Info: 5. 2 #############################
What this mod does is to let your character go on living after a death without reloading from a previous save. Your character is made essential, but that alone would make the game far too easy so I've coupled an essential character along with death penalties. I played Everquest for many years and there was a penalty to pay for dying, e.g. a corpse run naked through several zones to retrieve your belongings. I have tried to get the flavor of that with Near Death. In my early versions Megaton was the only place to return to upon death, it became apparent that there was way too much running around to get back to your corpse, so I added two Perks with purchasable elixirs, 'Bind Affinity Elixir' lets you set your own bind point anywhere outside shortening the corpse run.
Please give this mod a try, I think you'll like this alternate way of dying. Thank You
Introduction: The wastelands has become a living nightmare to you. In this dream state you don't die but wake up to fight your battles over and over. Instead of dying you will now drop down unconscious. But there is a penalty to pay for dying; like a good many RPG games you will have to do a corpse run. On the bright side, no more lost game time; you won't load a save. Instead of reverting to a save you will now resurrect your character in real time loosing nothing, well almost nothing; you may have been looted of your equipped armor and weapon depending on how desperate your enemies were.
Instead of dying you will go into a unconscious state and when that happens press the Zero key. You may have to press the key more than once, (I've never had to press the key more than 4 times) because of the game engine and the way it reads through scripts. This will start the revive process you will leave a corpse behind with some of your belongings, and be transported to an old graveyard outside Megaton. There you will find an old coffin that if you have the nerve to open contains some items to help you out temporarily. In case you were stripped of Armor, weapon, or both, then you can return to were you died and (A) you will find your items on your corpse or (B) one of the mobs has looted your corpse in which case you will have to take care of them to get your belongings back.
Auto-Bind: If enabled the game will automatically set a bind point for you according to your level from every 10 minutes at level 4 to every 5 minutes at level 14+ This Interval decreases by 1 every two levels.
