A harder and more balanced Fable

OVERVIEW:

As the title suggests, this mod balances the game and makes it challenging by removing Resurrection Phials, making potions and food scarcer and fixing the buy/sell exploit from traders. Also, most enemies will now deal more damage and will be tougher to beat. This does not mean that the game will be extremely difficult to beat, but that it will give players a nice challenge, which Fable previously lacked. The mod also makes getting gold more difficult, so now players will be encouraged to try other methods like boasts and renting out property.

INSTALLATION:

Step 1 (Optional):

Make a backup of your game.

Patch FinalAlbion.wad by opening Chocolate Box if you haven't done so already.

Drag and drop the mod files in the .zip archive inside your game directory and replace them.:

For most of the effects to happen you will need to make a new save game.

METHOD 2 (WITH COMPATIBILITY):

Apply the main .fmp file with Fable Explorer (Shadow Net) only, then apply the secondary fix .fmp. Save changes and run Fable and then the mod should be installed. If the game does not open for the first time, close Fable Explorer (Shadow Net) and run the game normally again.

MOD DETAILS:

Below is a list of all the changes:

-Most enemies now deal more damage.

-Some enemies will have more health.

-Humanoid enemies will have upgraded weapons and some of these weapons are augmented.

-Explosions type attacks now deal double the damage.

-Resurrection Phials are removed.

-Health and Mana potions are much more expensive and very scarce in shops.

-Shops will now have very low amounts of a certain item to prevent the buy/sell exploit.

-Shops will buy wanted items with a much higher price.

-Health and Mana Elixirs now are less effective.

-Food heals less.

-Crunchy Chicks are scarcer and give less evil alignment points to prevent the early opening of the Greatwood Gorge Demon Door.

-Physical Shield required much more stamina to protect the player from attacks.

-Slow Time's duration is decreased.

-Berserk deals less damage.

-Enflame deals less damage.

-Multi Strike deals less damage.

-Slightly less arrows in each level of the Multi Arrow spell.

-Traders buy items at a lower price.

-Physical Shield has no looping sound.

-Weak Health Potions may drop by random enemy loots.

-Chests with Resurrection Phials now have Weak Health Potions.

COMPATIBILITY:

If installed with Method 1 this mod will be compatible with mods that are installed by .fmp (Fable Mod Package) only. Mods that replace game files are not compatible.

If installed with Method 2 this most will be compatible with most other mods, however since it changes many entries it is advised to install this mod first before installing other .fmp's.
