The "Torpedo" name is a nickname for the classic Scania T-series trucks, which are known for their long, protruding hoods (bonnets). The "2" in the name often signifies a specific version of the mod, an updated version, or a variant that adds new features or improvements. The Scania T-series trucks were discontinued by Scania in 2005, which is why they aren't in the base game of ETS2. However, they are incredibly popular with modders and players who love classic, long-nosed trucks. The modding community has created numerous versions of these trucks, with the most famous being the one by RJL, a well-known and highly respected modder. What to Expect from a Scania Torpedo Mod A quality Scania Torpedo mod, like the one by RJL, is far more than just a new truck. It's a complete package that offers an enormous amount of customization. You can typically expect: Multiple Cabin and Chassis Options: The mod usually includes various cabin sizes (Normal, Topline, Longline) and a wide array of chassis configurations (4×2, 6×2, 6×4, 8×4, and more). This allows you to build a truck for any purpose, from a standard hauler to a massive show truck. Extensive Customization: This is the highlight. You can customize nearly every part of the truck, including bumpers, grilles, fenders, sunshields, side skirts, and exhausts. You can even choose different engine sounds and interiors to make the truck truly your own. Realistic Details: The modders put a lot of work into making these trucks as realistic as possible. This includes detailed interiors, proper Scania engine badging, and accurate physics. Standalone Mod: Most of these mods are "standalone," meaning they don't replace any of the default trucks. You buy them from the in-game Scania dealer, and they function just like a regular truck in your fleet. How to Find and Install the Mod Since the Scania Torpedo is not an official truck, you have to get it from the modding community. The easiest way to get a reliable, updated version is to look for it on the Steam Workshop. Many of the best mods are available there and can be installed with just one click. You can also find them on various third-party modding sites. Once you download the mod, you just need to place the file into your "mod" folder for ETS2 and then enable it in the game's Mod Manager before loading your save file. Just make sure the mod is compatible with your current version of the game to avoid crashes or issues. The Scania Torpedo is a fan favorite for a reason. It's a way to bring a legendary truck back to life and create a unique driving experience that's all your own.
