I'm Nobody. Who are you?

An escape room about the chaos in identity. THIS IS PART 2 Level Designers: Teresa Bing Miles Esguerra Design Statement: 1st level: The first level is the tutorial level which includes two small puzzles and one final puzzle. We decided on the structure of having multiple small puzzles lead to a main and final one from the beginning of our discussion. For us it is intuitive and a lot of escape rooms in the original game have the same set up. Since our title is "I'm Nobody. Who are you?", we started thinking about identity puzzles, which quickly led us to the pun of eye-dentity when we see the eyeballs in the room editor. We want to create a feeling of the main character descending into chaos. So we made the first/tutorial level seem organized and clean, but also have items that seem out of place in order to foreshadow the next room's chaos. For example there are flowers growing on the bed, ancient books in the bookshelf, weird items like a crystal ball and a completely black picture. During the process of completing the final puzzle, the room will get more and more messed up, which matches the tone of the second room. 2nd level: As the player progresses to the second stage, we wanted to incorporate an abstract and unconventional kind of narrative to link together the two rooms. This narrative and the characters in it are what drive the core of the puzzles– everything connects back to the themes of chaos and identity. The second level implements a similar small-to-final puzzle structure as the first, with more elevated conceptual and spatial puzzles inspired by the ones established in the first room. The chaos is full-blown in this room, and we wanted part of the fun to be sifting through an environment to figure out where things are supposed to go and how they fit into the room as a whole. There was a lot of adjusting between rooms in regard to the difficulty and communication of instructions. It took some work to find a balance between tutorializing and challenging,
