📋 About This Mod
Less Shiny Pillows in Enderal SE
Pillows in Enderal SE look fairly shiny, a lot more shine than I'd even expect from satin. This mods removes the shine and further raises the cloth texture so they appear to be coarsely woven rather than the finely textures we're used to on cloth today.
Compatibility
Texture Mods
This mod merely changes the normal maps for all static pillow objects. Pillows are an Enderal-specific resource, so Skyrim Mods won't touch them. Neither have I seen any texture mod on Nexus for Enderal SE that do.
This means it will most likely be compatible with every mod.
This mod is available in English, to my knowledge you do not need a translation file into any language since it merely changes a static object.
Installation
Installation does not have to be done on a new game, however, please make a backup save if you're installing during a playtrough:
0a. Make a hard save (not auto- or quicksave). If anything goes wrong, you can revert back to this save.
0b. Optional: To create a named save which will be easier to find again, open to console and type "save ".
0c. Exit your game.
1. Click "Manual Download" under the Files tab of this Mod page
2. Save the compressed Folder
3. Unpack the Folder with (7zip, WinRAR or similar tools)
4. Copy all contents of the mod folder into the "...\Enderal Special Edition\Data" directory
Mod Manager
1. Download via your Mod Manager of choice
2. Enable the mod
Uninstallation
Either disable the mod in your Mod Manager or if installed manually, delete all added files in your "...\Enderal Special Edition\Data" directory. The original files are packed in the E - Textures3.bsa and will be loaded and take their place again if you delete the mod files.
Bugs and Troubleshooting
This mod simply changes the normalmaps of static items - the probability of this mod causing any problems is extremely low. If you do run into any problems after installing the mod however, it should be safe to remove it again (see Uninstallation)
Credits go to SureAI for Enderal, the Mod Team for Enderal Special Edition and Insanity for the pillows already included in Enderal.

Less Shiny Pillows is a small visual mod for Skyrim that removes the excessive shine from pillow textures, making them look more woven and realistic. With 171 endorsements and 35,096 downloads, it's a niche cosmetic tweak for players who want a more grounded look without overhauling the game.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Does exactly what it says—kills that plastic shine on pillows
- Lightweight and safe, no scripts or heavy edits
- Decent community trust (171 endorsements, 35k downloads)
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects pillows—if you wanted broader texture fixes, this won't help
- Last updated in 2022, so it might not be tested with the newest Skyrim patches
- Could conflict with other texture overhauls that touch pillow meshes
For Skyrim players who notice the glossy pillow textures and want a quick, no-fuss fix. If you're running a full texture overhaul, you might already have this covered—skip unless pillows specifically bug you.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Drop the textures folder into your Skyrim Data directory, or use a mod manager for easy removal.
- If you use a texture overhaul like Skyrim 202X, load this mod after it to ensure the pillow textures take priority.
- No need to start a new game—this is a simple texture swap, so it works on existing saves.
