Support Freighter

The Imperial Support Freighters are tasked with resupplying larger capital ships and fleets. They are capable of simultaneously transporting troops, cargo, live plants, and vehicles over large distances and do not require fighter escorts for most missions. They often travel with larger fleets and breakoff to make planet fall in search of resources on alien worlds. It has moderate armor and weapons to handle non-hardened targets of distant worlds and create a base of operations while scout ships explore the area and mining vehicles exploit the nearby soil.

Features:

• Two large cargo bays with automatic doors and ramps

• Construction, item repair, medical, and utility amenities at the bow of the ship with separate exit ramp for easy access

• A 32 plot hydroponics garden

• Crew area above the garden with recreational services and views

• Five cannon turrets for atmospheric combat

• A dedicated engineering room

• The bridge has access to the rear and forward decks for quick access to the ships controls or to dock additional small vessels

• Gothic style industrial windows flank the hydroponics garden and crew areas

• Every room has motion sensored lights to conserve (barely any) energy

• More expensive than any of the light freighters, but still available for construction at level 10

Notes:

• The forward deck (in front of the bridge) is flat and easily docks a large small vessel, but I prefer docking them behind the bridge so it doesn't obstruct your view

• Like the light freighters, you can get hover vessels on top of this ship if you drive them up the nose. It looks silly, but works in a pinch.
