Solar Furnace

Have you ever placed a shiny new furnace in your base, left for a jaunt through the woods only to come back to a base drained of energy and all of your plants dead? If yes (or if you just want to avoid this unpleasant experience) then the Solar Furnace is for you! This building lets you smelt to your hearts content without ever worrying about losing power in your main base.

I made a Solar Cement Plant (basically 3 advanced constructors) that goes great with the furnace:

• A furnace of course!

• A single cannon turret to ward of drones

• An extensive solar array in an eye-pleasing cross pattern (Now with one side missing to fit in the new 15 panel limit)

• Two landing pads (replacing 5 solar panels) so now there is less issue of it being tall if you want more of a tower

• Back up generators and fuel storage to run the furnace at night

Requirements:

• Furnaces draw A LOT of energy so the solar array will not power it perpetually - usually I find that I don't need a furnace going all the time and this still produces ingots pretty fast

• This has a tall footprint for placing in the water or on steep cliffs - either drop it down to ground level, or be prepared to need a small vessel to reach the furnace

• I sort of made this thinking of the movie Sahara where they used solar energy to superheat toxic waste (so like why not smelt with the same idea, eh?) - I know that in those collectors, there are mirrors that reflect the sun into the tower and mine point away from it, but Empyrion solar panels don't work like that and I wanted to avoid shading them unnecessarily

• The version 1. 0 (old files) has 20 panels (and no landing area) but won't work with the alpha 8 limit of 15 solar panels
