Nightreign Auto Save Manager

Its located in %appdata%\Nightreign where you will have to find in folders with names composed of numbers (that's your steam ID) which one has the Nightreign save files (NR0000.sl2 by default).

I've been using this program I made for a while and it is so hassle-free that I decided to share it, but use it at your own risk. It has saved me from corrupted save files twice already from playing multiple mods.

With this mod you can:

- Automatically back up your saves from Nightreign vanilla or with mods when the game closes

- Sync your saves between vanilla and mods automatically when the game closes!

- Copy your saves between vanilla and mods!

Installation instructions

It's a self-contained .exe, so just extract and run the file. It will live in your notification area (next to your system clock). On first run it will guide you trough the setup and you can choose how you want it to work

Save File Name

You can setup which files the program will backup using a wildcard asterisk, for example:

You can select a backup size limit or a number of backups you want it to keep saved.

NR0000 is the default file name for Nightreign's save file while .sl2 is the default extension.

The extension for the popular mod Seamless Co-op is .co2 and if you play More Map Variations, that is .co2 also.

If you play with Server Redirector, the save file is NR0000. CL_SAVE so you just need to either add that or NR0000 or *. CL_SAVE, they will all work.

During the setup you will be guided on the configurations needed and you can also transfer an existing save file to a save file with a mod extension.

The way it works is super simple: it listens for when the game closes and looks at the folder you configured as the save folder (it tries to auto-detect the save folder in %appdata%\Nightreign) for new save files. Then, according to your configuration, it will back up your save files to the folder you configured and if you set up any Syncing it will also sync your save files on the save folder.

If you set it to start with windows, it will live happily in your system tray and you will be given a notification when it backs up your save files.
