This mod introduces 10 ascending levels of difficulty, inspired by similar systems in other roguelikes. It integrates the Shifting Earth events into the Ascension system, allowing you to encounter them more frequently as part of your progression, while also improving map variety.

Intended for players who have already beaten the game multiple times, it offers a new layer of challenge and replayability.

You select Ascension levels at the expedition menu. You complete an Ascension level by killing any Night Lord like usual and then you unlock the next Ascension level. Each Ascension level keeps the effect of the lower Ascensions, making the game gradually harder. The Ascension level unlocks are class specific.

After completing new Ascension levels you unlock visual enhancements, offering you a reward for your progress and effort.

Ascension 1

You take 10% more damage.

No Shifting Earth.

Ascension 2

Your flasks heal for 10% less.

Shifting Earth: The Crater.

Ascension 3

You gain 15% less runes.

Shifting Earth: Rotted Woods.

Ascension 4

You deal 10% less damage.

Shifting Earth: Mountaintop.

Ascension 5

Night 3 vendor no longer sells a wending grace.

Shifting Earth: Shrouded City.

Ascension 6

You take 10% increased damage.

No Shifting Earth.

Ascension 7

Your flasks heal for 10% less.

Visual unlocks

You unlock visual enhancements every time you beat a new Ascension level and when you beat Ascension 3 with each class. There are also two bonus ones for beating Ascension 10 with two and three classes. In total there are 20 different visuals and you can see some of them in the visual showcase in th
