Placidusax - Ancient Elden Lord (Challenge)

Placidusax is one of the bosses I find really interesting to mod at recent times, especially after having experienced Bayle and also refighting him. So I ended up with my take with the Dragonlord. This project was 1 month into development and I'm pretty happy with the results so far. 

I balanced the mod with a medium roll setup and all attacks including his ultimates can be avoided without getting hit.

Changes to the bossfight:

1. Increased Placidusax’s base health by 10%. The Dragonlord now has 900 poise but it’s balanced out by him not having any poise recovery.

2. Placidusax's attack speed on several attacks are slightly increased and he is more aggressive than in vanilla, requiring you to be more careful with your usual approach in battling him.

3. Added new attacks for Placidusax, including a Phase 1 variant of Placidusax's Ruin.

4. Placidusax takes longer to charge up his Grand Bolt Explosion, however the explosion covers twice the range and can instantly kill you.

5. Added more lightning strikes to his Ultimates.

6. Placidusax no longer phase transitions at 55% HP. Instead, he will phase transition once his healthbar is fully depleted. When this happens, he will reverse time and have his HP reset and his status ailments purged. However, there's a catch to his time reversal that can also provide you with a benefit.

7. Placidusax has more variety of teleport attacks in Phase 2 and his teleportation sequence is expanded.

8. Placidusax's lightning call in Phase 2 has him summon more lightning to stack with his default one.

9. Enhanced Placidusax's Thudercloud Form attack and Placidusax's Ruin.

10. Placidusax now has an alternative way to perform Placidusax's Ruin in Phase 2 and he has a small chance to do this no matter his HP.

11. Placidusax in Phase 2 can reverse time if he's met with a debuff that has an Outer God influence.

12. Added a new "Final Ruin" attack when Placidusax reaches critical HP in Phase 2.

13. There is a new banner text in place of "LEGEND FELLED" after you defeat Placidusax.

Quality of Life changes:

- You can resurrect Placidusax after you defeat him. Interact with the Ancient Dragon statue near the place you spawn before fighting Placidusax to turn back to the time Placidusax is still slumbering.

Known Issues:

- Upon a riposte, Placidusax's riposte animation won't play out as intended.

Future additions to the mod:

- Placidusax in 2nd Phase can either restore or diminish your Number of Flasks. He too will restore 1 to 3 flasks during his time reversal depending on how much HP he resets.

- Interact with Placidusax after defeating him. He will be lying on the floor severely weakened at the time. Here are the possible interactions you can do with Placidusax.

1. Turn back time: Resets Placidusax’s bossfight like how the dragon statue works in the current version.

2. Show Bayle’s heart: After defeating Bayle the Dread, ‘The Dragonlord is pleased with the message.’ Bayle’s Heart will be kept by the Dragonlord but in exchange, you will attain both of Placidusax’s remembrance weapons as a reward.

- Stormdragon Tatianax (Blue Hood’s Enhanced Ancient Dragon) will guard the Eye of the Storm (The area before the place you lay down and the cutscene where time reverses will play out)

Installation

1. Download the mod zip folder. Once the download is completed, extract the folder.

2. Open the extracted files. There you will find a folder named “mod”. Drag the folder to the ModEngine2 folder containing the launcher, as there is a folder named “mod” in there too.
