Elden Ring MO2 Support Plugin

Description

Unofficial Elden Ring support for Mod Organizer 2, with native DLL and loose asset handling, archive layout choices, save isolation, and optional per-profile startup tools.

Installation instructions

• []Close MO2 and back up the installed plugin files.[/]

• []In MO2's Executables settings, confirm that Binary and Start in point to the same Elden Ring installation.[/]

  []To enable the optional save-dialog integration, open Settings > Plugins > Elden Ring MO2 Save Isolation and enable Enable Elden Ring save dialog integration.[/]

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

The current target is MO2 2. 5. 2 and Elden Ring 1. 17. 1. Compatibility with other versions is not confirmed. The asset resolver may need updating after a game patch, and some DLL mods that require an extension host may not work.

This plugin should disable Easy Anti-Cheat or change the game's network mode. Save isolation does make modded play safe online but i need to see how other systems react.

Main features

• []Elden Ring Archive Layout Installer[/]

• For supported Elden Ring archives, choose Use standard MO2 layout or Keep original archive structure before installation.

• Use standard MO2 layout attempts to remove repeated packaging folders, then places recognized DLLs and their matching INI files in Game/DLLs. Game assets such as menu, chr, and parts remain at their normal game paths. Bundled .log files are discarded in this layout.

• Keep original archive structure preserves the packaged paths. Use it when a mod depends on its original folder structure. Root-level DLLs in that mod are loaded while the mod is active.

• The installer also provides independent Omit .txt files and Omit .md files options. Both are off by default. Each choice is saved for that mod and preselected when you reinstall it. Omitting a format removes all files with that extension and may remove documentation or files a mod needs. FOMOD archives continue to use their own scripted installer.

  []Separate saves per MO2 profile keeps profiles isolated. This is the recommended mode for modded play.[/]

  []Share modded saves within this MO2 instance lets profiles using this mode share the instance's save folder.[/]

  []Use the global Steam / Elden Ring save uses the save in %APPDATA%/EldenRing, which can also be used by Steam and other MO2 instances.[/]

Changing a mode does not move existing saves automatically. Close Elden Ring before using the Save Isolation copy actions. The source is kept, and an existing destination is preserved in a dated backup before a copy is installed.

MO2's Transfer Saves button transfers between the global save folder and a profile save folder. It does not target the custom instance-shared folder; use the Save Isolation tool for that route.

• []Optional MO2 Dialog Integration[/]

The optional integration adds the Elden Ring save modes to MO2's Create Instance and Profiles dialogs. The selected mode manages MO2's profile-specific-save setting automatically.

The integration is disabled by default and applies only to Elden Ring. Selecting another game restores MO2's native controls. It uses MO2's internal Qt widgets, so it is experimental and may need updates for other MO2 versions.

• []Startup and Performance Options[/]

Per-profile options are off by default. They include minimized startup, a black startup background, delayed CPU 0 exclusion, old-log cleanup, and clearing Overwrite after the game closes.

Full Overwrite cleanup deletes all files and subfolders there, including output from other mods and tools. It cannot be enabled alongside old-log cleanup. The plugin also keeps the current and previous bridge logs in %TEMP%.
