Description
Converge Hunted is a work-in-progress gameplay overhaul for Elden Ring: The Convergence designed to make enemies more aware of the player and make combat encounters feel less isolated.
The core idea is simple: combat makes noise, and nearby enemies should react to it.
In the base game, it's often possible to fight an enemy while another enemy stands relatively close by without noticing anything. Converge Hunted is being built to change that. Weapon impacts and other combat sounds can travel farther, potentially alerting enemies in the surrounding area and turning what would normally be a small encounter into something much more dangerous.
Current Features
This early version focuses primarily on the game's sound and enemy-awareness systems.
-
[]Increased the effective detection radius of selected combat sounds.[/]
[]Standard weapon hits can generate sound detectable from approximately 100 meters away.[/]
[]Nearby enemies can investigate or become involved when they hear combat.[/]
[]Backstabs and critical attacks retain their original sound behavior, allowing stealth-oriented attacks to remain comparatively quiet.[/]
[]Separate sound entries are used for louder combat events rather than globally increasing the radius of the original weapon audio.[/]
[]Designed specifically around Elden Ring: The Convergence.[/]
Starting a loud fight in a dangerous area should carry consequences.
Design Goal
Eventually, I want Converge Hunted to make exploration feel less like moving between isolated groups of enemies and more like traveling through a hostile environment where your actions can attract attention.
A fight can escalate.
Enemies you didn't intend to engage may hear what's happening and join the battle. Charging into an area and fighting loudly becomes riskier, while stealth, positioning, target selection, and awareness of your surroundings become more valuable.
At the same time, quieter actions such as backstabs and critical attacks are intentionally being kept separate so that players still have ways to eliminate enemies without broadcasting their position.
Early Test Version
This is currently a work in progress.
I'm publishing the mod in its current state primarily so it can be tested while development continues. Features, detection distances, sound behavior, enemy reactions, and overall balance are subject to change.
There may be situations where enemies hear something from farther away than expected, fail to react as expected, or encounters become considerably more chaotic than int
