Ultimate Crimson Amber Medallion - Easy/Cheat Mode 1. 17. 1
This mod adds a large collection of player buffs to the Crimson Amber Medallion.
Equip the Crimson Amber Medallion and all effects become active. Unequip it and the effects are removed.
The Crimson Amber Medallion can be selected as a starting Keepsake, so the mod can be used from the very beginning of a new playthrough.
It also works with existing save files as long as you have access to the medallion.
You can buy the base Crimson Amber Medallion from the Nomadic Merchant in the Weeping Peninsula for 1,500 runes (near the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace)
Thus, technically, no new game is required.
Important: How the Mod Works
All gameplay buffs are attached to the base Crimson Amber Medallion.
-
[]The buffs affect only the player wearing the talisman. [/]
[]NPC invaders and other player-like NPCs are not affected. This fixes the NPC buff inheritance issue present in the previous version. [/]
[]No specific armor or weapon is required. [/]
[]The effects can be enabled or disabled simply by equipping or unequipping the talisman. [/]
Save File & Mod Compatibility
This mod does not require starting a new game. It can be used with an existing save file.
However, if you are already using another mod that also modifies regulation.bin, the two mods will usually conflict. In that case, simply replacing regulation.bin will cause one mod to overwrite the other.
To use multiple regulation.bin mods together, their parameter changes need to be merged manually, for example with Smithbox.
Important note:
Smithbox 2. 2.x has a known issue where simply saving an Elden Ring regulation.bin can produce a file the game rejects unless Strip Row Names on Save is enabled. The game will say “save data is corrupted” after editing/saving the regulation.
The actual save file is fine, this is just the most basic error message the game can throw at you when it doesn't know what's going on.
Do this in Smithbox:
Preferences → Param Editor → Regulation → enable STRIP ROW NAMES ON SAVE
Then start again from a fresh copy of my working regulation.bin, make your changes, and save it with that option already enabled.
But, as always, make a backup of your save file before using gameplay-altering mods.
Installation instructions
This mod is only a modified regulation.bin file, so it does not require a mod loader. You can replace the vanilla regulation.bin directly.
The important caveat is that Easy Anti-Cheat must be disabled and the game must be played offline while the modded regulation is installed. Regulation mods are commonly installed this way.
Installation
Compatible with Elden Ring Regulation 1. 17. 1.
-
[]Make sure Elden Ring is set to Offline Mode and Easy Anti-Cheat is disabled.
Do not use this mod online. [/
][]Open the Elden Ring installation directory. The easiest way through Steam is:
Elden Ring → Manage → Browse Local Files → Game
The typical Windows location is: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game\regulation.bin[/]
[]Find: regulation.bin[/]
[]Make a backup of the original file somewhere safe.[/]
[]The easiest is to rename it to regulation_vanilla.bin for example[/]
[]Copy the modded regulation.bin file into the Game folder[/]
[]Launch Elden Ring with Easy Anti-Cheat disabled.[/]
-
[]Close Elden Ring. [/]
[]Rename the modded regulation.bin file into regulation_modded.bin (so you don't have to delete it) and rename the regulation_vanilla.bin back to regulation.bin.[/]
[]Re-enable Easy Anti-Cheat before playing online.[/]
