📋 About This Mod

NOTE: Fixed according to patch notes for regulation 1.06.Removes the hitstops on the Ghostflame projectiles from the Poker's innate Ash of War.

This mod has been updated to Regulation 1. 05, but I will not be updating it further. A guide on implementing it on your own is available here, with documentation also linked.

Second addendum: This has been officially fixed in v1. 06, and this mod is no longer necessary. It contains potentially useful info for those looking to modify hitstops or the Poker's Ash of War "Ghostflame Ignition", so between this and just not wanting to take it down, I'm keeping the page up.

You ever use the Death's Poker greatsword's weapon skill and felt like your game was lagging? It's not just you, it's a bug. Hopefully it's patched in a future update, but for now have this.

Elden Ring, like many games, uses hitstops, which slows your character down for a fraction of a second, on melee attacks to give your hits a bit of "oomph" (only on hits that land! you can whiff your swings all you want and no hitstops will occur). This is fine, as you're locked in the animation for the attack anyways. Ranged attacks or lingering attacks like Volcano Pots, don't have hitstops, because it'd feel very strange to slow down for a fraction of a second because your throwing knife hit someone, or your Volcano Pot dealt damage.

Ghostflame Ignition, the innate Ash of War for the Greatsword Death's Poker, has hitstops for all of the aspects of its skill: the base lingering flame, the explosion you can trigger by hitting R2 immediately after L2, and the blackflame trail created by hitting R1 immediately after an L2. Even though the first and last are lingering effects you can act independently of, they still have hitstops.

This mod removes them. It's a very simple fix, if a bit dirty.
