Backhand Blade Retexture (Rivers of Blood style)

Description

This is a simple retexture of the Backhand Blade, featuring a color palette inspired by the Rivers of Blood katana, Eleonora’s Poleblade, and Rakshasa’s Great Katana.

As of November 29, 2025, the 8K version (with 8K normal maps and 4K metallic maps) is the only file available for download and has been reworked to improve clarity and in-game texture quality.

The older versions (vanilla, 2K, 4K, and the 8K version with 4K normals and 2K metallic maps) remain available under the “Old Versions” category.

Installation (Mod Engine 2)

1. Download and install the latest version of Mod Engine 2.

 To maximize compatibility with your game, copy all the files inside the “ModEngine-2. 1. 0. 0-win64” folder (which contains the modengine2 and mod folders, the Readme file, modengine2_launcher.exe, 3 batch [.bat] files, and 3 configuration [.toml] files) into your Elden Ring\Game directory. You may delete any batch or configuration files you don’t need (e.g., the Armored Core 6 or Dark Souls 3 ones).

2. Download this mod, then extract/copy/drop the parts folder of this mod inside the mod folder of Mod Engine 2.

3. Launch Elden Ring in offline mode using the batch file (launchmod_eldenring.bat) from Mod Engine 2.

*I don’t see much reason to use the older versions, since the new 8K file has shown no performance impact in my testing—whether on an older GTX 1050 Ti or on a much newer RTX 4060 (both paired with an Intel Core i5-8400 and 24 GB of DDR4 RAM).
