📋 About This Mod
This is a mod that sets all variants of Giant Ants, Man-Flies and Spider Scorpions to die automatically.
Update: 21/08/2024: Having beaten Elden Ring, this mod won't be updated further as I have no intention of ever playing this game again.
Update: 08/08/2024: Updated mod to the latest game version and also restructured the files into one download for people to choose.
Update: 07/08/2024: Added optional files that also remove Fingercreepers, as requested.
--------------------------------------
A "quick and dirty" mod to help me mange my phobias with this game. I originally made this for personal use but figured I'd share it in case anyone else wanted to use it. It's more extreme than I'd like because my phobias aren't that bad, but I don't currently know how to mod textures and sound files so this is the best I can do (for now).
Currently only been tested with the ant locations as I'm playing through Elden Ring for the first time and have yet to reach the DLC areas. However the logic behind removing the other enemies is the same as for the the ants so it should just work.
Having now reached (but not yet finished) the DLC myself I can confirm this is tested and working on the listed enemies in the DLC too, with one exception. There is a specific spider scorpion. The specific location is from the "Main Gate Cross" site of grace leading to Belurat. When you go up the stairs to the large doors, upon opening them you will see this spider scorpion in the distance sitting on the ceiling. For some reason it loses all its HP but doesn't die without dropping down from the ceiling; however it drops down while there's still some distance between you so provided you walk towards it slowly it'll activate and die instantly before you ever get close.
Not entirely sure why this is the case for this one specific enemy when I haven't seen this happen anywhere else in the game that I've been so far.
The download has both the modified regulation.bin file, and two CSV files that can be imported if you want to merge it into an already modifed regulation.bin (assuming you know how to do this using SmithBox).
I've also only tested running the mod using the ModEngine 2 method so I can't confirm if other approaches will work.
The specific details of what the mods does are:
- Creates a custom status effect that causes the afflicted entity to lose 500 HP per second.
- On death, the entity will drop 0. 001x the number of runes they would by default (to avoid creating a free farming experience).
- The above effects have been applied to all listed instances of Giant Ants, Man-Flies and Spider Scorpions.
