Installation
This is a standard file mod with no special requirements; you can install it however you prefer, but me3 is the recommended method. These instructions will cover installation in the me3 default profile.
1. Install me3 (if you don't have it already)
You can find download links and instructions for me3 here:
https://me3.help/
2. Locate your Elden Ring mods folder, which by default will be created at:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\garyttierney\me3\config\profiles\eldenring-mods
3. Copy the contents of the Aesthetic Arsenal "Mod" folder into your mods folder
You should end up with a folder structure like this:
eldenring-mods\event\common.emevd.dcx
4. Ensure Steam is running and launch eldenring-default.me3
Sit at any Site of Grace and select the "Aesthetic Arsenal" option near the bottom; select a weapon category, then a specific weapon within it.
Choose "Left-handed" to display the weapon as if it were holstered from your left hand, "Right-handed" for the opposite, or both at once.
Indicators on the various menus will show you what you have set to be displayed currently.
Frequently Anticipated Questions/Known Issues
- Can this display retextures, model swaps, or entirely new weapons?
No; this mod has to be built against a specific set of assets, so changes from other mods won't be reflected even if you merge them.
- Can you make it automatically show what's equipped in the extra weapon slots?
No; there's no way for a pure file mod to accurately detect what's in those.
- Displayed weapons exhibit slight ghosting in motion when Antialiasing is set to High.
As far as I know this is just a quirk of how sfx are rendered; it's not super noticeable under most conditions, but if it bothers you you can set Antialiasing to Low or Off. If you know of a way to fix it, please tell me!
- Displayed weapons don't have physics (mostly affects flails and some miscellaneous things like Dancing Blade of Ranah).
This is almost definitely unfixable because I don't think there's any way to apply physics to an sfx model, but I'd be happy to be corrected.
- Some weapons don't display anything when enabled.
This isn't really an issue per se, weapons like Beast Claw that replace your hands are just normally invisible when holstered.
