Incheon to Seoul [Mission]

September, 1950. In the wake of North Korea's unrelenting blitzkrieg invasion, the fate of South Korea hung by a thread as it clung to a shrinking pocket of territory and UN Forces risk being ejected wholesale from the peninsula. Desperate to not merely stem but perhaps turn the tide of the conflict, American General Douglas MacArthur designed a dramatic hail-mary operation that would see US and ROK forces aim to penetrate deep into the overexposed North Korean rearguard via a cunning amphibious assault on the port city of Incheon. Despite its monumental risks, the operation proved a stunning counterstroke equal to that of North Korea's initial breakthrough, with US and ROK forces racing from victory to victory all the way to Seoul and the 38th Parallel.
