This mod introduces two elite units of Fencer and Wing Diver, playable in either solo or online missions.

The Thunder Striker, an armored soldier who employs both Fencer and Wing Diver weapons.

And the Valkyrie, an air unit who uses a selection of Ranger and Air Raider weapons.

Frontline armor of the advanced technologies lab, repurposed to host heavy-duty plasma generators.

Their superior energy output allows experimental weapons to be used to the fullest.

Thunder Strikers face missions where extreme care is required to avoid catastrophy,

dealing with dangerous extra-terrestrial technology in often hazardous environments.

THUNDER STRIKERS are a special unit of Fencers, armed with a variety of energy weapons on top of their classic arsenal.

They are equipped with internal Plasma Generators which can neve run out of power, at the cost of slower recharge rates.

Dual wielding Wing Diver weapons is not only fun, but makes for interesting combos when mixed with shields and other Fencer gear.

As an added bonus, Thunder Strikers can natively recharge Powerdyne and Disruptor weapons. It's even lore accurate!

Fencers are the least modded class in the EDF games, what with being the hardest to edit and having a somewhat standalone kit.

I converted my old Strider class into this Fencer variant, to show that there's still plenty of novelty left in modding Fencers.

A squadron of Wing Divers specially designed to escort transport aircraft during air operations.

They carry standard weapons, to avoid interference with the airship's guidance and communication systems.

Upgrades to their aerial units allow them to extend their sorties in the air, moving from one transport vehicle

to the next. Valkyries often coordinate their attacks with the aircrews from the flying fortresses they defend.

VALKYRIES are an elite squadron of Wing Divers, favoring standard firearms and drones over energy weapons.

They are essentially Rangers of the sky, but I find particularly on point to compare them to the pilots of airstrike raids.

Since their weapons have no energy requirements, the Valkyries' Flight Units can operate longer, albeit at the price of lesser agility.

Ultimately, what's truly fun is the simplicity to keep fighting from the air, with no gauges nor alarms to keep you down.

Bundling the Valkyrie to the Thunder Striker was not part of the plan, at first. This was supposed to be the Thunder Striker mod.

But as development progressed, it became clear that the vanilla Wing Diver could no longer be used, so I went with a variant.

INSTALLATION

To install the mod, extract its zip archive in the EDF6 folder, located in:

"Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Earth Defence Force 6"

When installed correctly, the installation folder should look like in the screenshot below.
