EDF5 - Owa's Last Braincell Edition

"Do you ever look at someone and wonder, 'What is going on inside their head?'"

Collection of dumb funny audio replacements for Earth Defense Force 5 on PC brainstormed (with help) while playing with friends, created for pure stupid enjoyment. A list of the stuff that's been changed can be found all the way at the bottom of this description, but some of it is definitely funnier if you just play the game and find it randomly so each entry has been spoilered.

1) Download the .zip

1b) Close the game if you still have it running for some reason (you know who you are)

2) Navigate to the game directory for Earth Defense Force 5 (for Steam you can use the game's Properties > Local Files > Browse option to get there) and go to SOUND > PC, place the .zip here

3) Before unzipping it, you can make a backup of the SOUND > PC folder if you'd like (not necessary if using Steam, see "UNINSTALLING" section)

4) Make Extract the .zip here (NOT to its own folder), saying "YES" to overwriting any files when asked

UNINSTALLING

1) Delete the contents of SOUND > PC (you can see which files are modified by just inspecting the .zip, but deleting them all works too)

2) Either put back your backup files (if you made them), or use Steam's game validation via the game's Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of game files option to restore the originals

Some sounds are only replaced in the English translation of the game because of separate Criware audio archives being used for different languages in the gamefiles.

Archives were modified from the base game by using the Eternity Audio Tool (3rd party tool for extracting and replacing content within Criware proprietary audio archive files) which was located with help from resources and posts in the EDF-Modding channel of the Earth Defense Force Discord, as well as a lot of learning through trial and error.
