This mod removes baked lighting in interiors and enclosed area while also forcing small grasses to cast screenspace shadows.

You might see lighting changes abruptly depending on what you are looking at - as the game grabs the screen color and averages to

fake the ambient light color inside RT world.

// Why is the GI acting as if it has eye adaptation

That is exactly what Techland did for its RT implementation - RT world/geometry needs to be lit by ambient light, in DLTB's implementation,

there is only 1 bounce per ray, which can create overly dark ambient. Techland try to solve it by computing an average color of your entire screen,

to simulate a cheap multibounce effect. But this is heavily limited by the the color brightness on screen, thus the eye adaptation effect.

// Why reshade

Reshade along with RenoDX framework allows easy shader replacement and shouldn't be affected by game update.

There is no need to update mod for every new game version..

// Installation

• []Install Reshade 6. 6 or higher with addon support. No Reshade effects are required.

  []Copy renodx-dyinglight-rt.addon64 into the game's main exe folder (`Dying Light The Beast\ph_ft\work\bin\x64`). This will also be the same folder you installed ReShade's dxgi.dll to)

  []Run game

  []Press <HOME> on your keyboard to access ReShade UI.

• Addon should be a separate tab in the ReShade window.
