📋 About This Mod

This mod polishing the new animations in

DLTB

and replaces old DL2 leftovers with DL1 ones. You're playing as Crane, not Aiden after all.

Techland cooked with the animations in DLTB, however some are weirdly implemented. Some use unequal framerates, end too soon, start too early, etc.

Jumps (Minor)                                      Active Landing 1 & 2 (Major)                               Enemy Jump (Major)

Melee Attacks (Major)                                           Dodges (Major)                                             Monkey Bar (Major)

Active Landing 3 (Minor)                                 Far Jump (Major)                                            Look Back (Major)

I've gone through and fixed these issues by editing the animscripts of said animations and also replaced most leftover DL2 animations with DL1 ones. (Some minor tweaks to FarJump, MonkeyBarJumpOff and EnemyJump are also included)

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Brings back that classic DL1 feel, which is a big win for veterans
  • Decent traction with 75 endorsements and over 5k downloads
  • Lightweight approach—just Animscripts, so no heavy asset overhauls

⚠️ Cons

  • Only 75 endorsements, so it's a niche pick—might not be thoroughly tested by the masses
  • Animation mods can clash with other moveset or combat mods, so watch for conflicts
  • Last updated in July 2026, so it might not be actively maintained for future game patches
🎯 Is This For You?
For Dying Light players who miss the original game's animations and want Crane to move with that classic flair. If you're a purist who loves the DL1 moveset, this is a must-try. Skip if you're happy with the vanilla animations or prefer total overhauls.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it edits Animscripts, make sure you're not using other mods that also modify Crane's animations—they'll likely conflict.
  • Back up your original Animscripts folder before installing, just in case you want to revert.
  • Check the mod's comments section for any reported issues with specific game versions.
