📋 About This Mod
Better Ragdolls MOD
Let's be honest: the ragdoll physics in Dying Light: The Beast are pretty bad, just like they were in Dying Light 2. It really feels like Techland didn't put the effort into making them resemble the fantastic ones from the original Dying Light. As a fan, I'm sure you've noticed the problems.
For instance, the vanilla game's ragdolls suffer from extremely strict angular limits on their legs and feet. You simply can't make a ragdoll spread its legs or split it around because the bone angles are far too restricted. This often leads to repetitive, almost T-pose-like death animations—both legs straight forward, arms awkwardly raised, and that's usually it.
The Beast ragdolls feel as light as cardboard. Every body part and limb often moves with the same stiff motion and weight, making them look rigid and lifeless.
That's why I created Better Ragdolls MOD. My goal was simple: to bring the beloved, extremely floppy ragdoll effect from Dying Light 1 into The Beast.
Here’s how this mod tackles those issues and brings back the classic DL1 ragdoll feel:
-
[] Enhanced "Jelly" Ragdoll Effect:
The mod significantly increases the elasticity (CFM - Constraint Force Mixing) of all joints. This allows bodies to bend, contort, and absorb impacts like gelatin, resulting in a much softer and more satisfying collapse that truly feels fleshy.[
] Wider, More Dynamic Joint Angles:To combat the stiff, T-pose-like deaths, the mod expands the angular limits on all major joints (hips, knees, elbows, shoulders, spine, neck, wrists, ankles) well beyond the vanilla game. This enables more exaggerated, yet physically coherent, bending and twisting, making each ragdoll unique.[] More Stick, Less Slide:
Both the surface friction and the internal joint friction are significantly raised. Now ragdolls will roll more when ragdolling in high velocity!
