📋 About This Mod
Again, This is not my mod, I copied it to update it. All I did was add the modifications made by cinematographer into the 1. 19 game file. All credit to cinematographer. This mod is from HERE.
Cinematographer, feel free to save yourself the work in updating the file and take this file for your update. I will delete this post when you update.
This mod completely reimagines the weapon experience in Dying Light 2. The swing animations for many two-handed baseball bats have been replaced with a smooth and dynamic katana swing animation. All swords have also been updated with these new animations, enhancing the overall combat flow.
Additionally, some weapons have been modified to be wielded with one hand, making them easier to use in various situations. Several finisher animations have also been revamped to keep things fresh and exciting.
One of the coolest features of this mod is the ability for only some thrown weapons to return to you, allowing for a more engaging gameplay experience. Now, when you throw certain weapons, they will come back to you, making each throw feel more impactful!
Here are the names of the weapons that return when thrown, just like the Sköll axe:
01. PK'S HAMMERBASHER
02. WISE KATANA
03. NOCTURAL TRIBAL MACHETE
04. THE FIRST PILGRIM STAFF
05. TALON OF HORUS
06. WOLFCLAW
07. MICHONNE'S KATANA
08. CHINOARASHI
09. BLADEMAXX REDUX
10. VOLTAIC WRENCH
11. LUCILLE
13. SORROWSONG SCYTHE
14. WARDEN'S LONGSWORD
15. BERSERKER'S HAND AXE
16. DYING LAUGH BAT
17. KENSEI'S NODACHI
18. ARCADE FURY
19. THE EXTINGUISHER
21. RELOAD AXE
22. EXPCALIBUR 2. 0
23. SAVAGE KATANA
A compatibility update that ports cinematographer's weapon animations mod to game version 1.19. The original author's work is preserved, with this version simply integrating those changes into the current game files. For players who want the new swing animations on the latest patch.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Brings the mod up to date for 1.19, so it works on the latest patch
- Small but active community (31 endorsements, 1,081 downloads)
- Straightforward port—no extra features to fiddle with
⚠️ Cons
- Not the original mod—just a compatibility patch, so don't expect new content
- Low endorsement count (31) suggests it's a niche fix, not a must-have
For players who loved cinematographer's weapon animations but needed them working on 1.19. If you're on an older version or don't care about the new patch, stick with the original. Skip if you want fresh content—this is just a port.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure your game is actually version 1.19 before installing—this won't work on older builds.
- If you already have the original mod installed, remove it first to avoid conflicts.
- Since it's a simple file replacement, back up your original game files just in case.
